How it works

A private conversation before the nikah

Between Us was built for Muslim couples who want to enter marriage with clarity. Not awkward interrogations, but honest, guided conversations about the things that actually matter.

01

Create your account & pick topics

Sign in with your email or Google account, choose the categories that matter most to you, from deen and family planning to romance and intimacy, and start a new quiz.

02

Invite your partner

Enter your partner's first name to unlock a private invite link, then share it with them. They sign in with their own account, and only the two of you can access this quiz.

03

Answer privately, on your own time

Each of you answers the same questions separately. Your progress is saved to your account, so you can pause and come back from any device via your dashboard.

04

Compare answers together

Once you've both submitted, you get 24 hours of shared access to view each other's answers side by side, color-coded so you instantly see where you align and where you still need to talk.

05

Reflect & keep the conversation going

After the 24-hour window, either of you can hide or unhide your own answers from your dashboard. The goal isn't to agree on everything , it's to know what you're walking into so you can build a strong nikah, in shaa Allah.

Built for privacy

Only you and your partner ever see each other's answers, and only after you've both finished. Answers are stored securely so you can come back to them across devices, protected by row-level security so nobody else, including other users, can read them. After the 24-hour shared window, either of you can hide your own answers at any time, or delete the quiz entirely.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know about the Muslim marriage quiz process.

Muslim couples should discuss deen and daily practice, family roles and boundaries, financial expectations, children and parenting styles, intimacy and romance, and lifestyle preferences like where to live. Between Us covers all of these in a guided, respectful format.

You create a free account, pick the topics you want to explore, and enter your partner's first name to unlock a private invite link. You share the link with them, they sign in with their own account and answer the same questions privately. Once you've both finished, you get 24 hours of shared access to compare answers side by side.

Only you and your partner ever see each other's answers, and only after you've both finished. Answers are stored on our servers so you can return to them across devices, protected by row-level security so nobody else, not even other users, can read them. After the 24-hour shared window ends, either of you can hide your own answers from the other at any time.

The quiz includes categories on deen and spirituality, family and in-laws, finances, children and parenting, intimacy and romance, daily lifestyle, and communication. The initiator picks which categories to include when they create the quiz, and can edit that selection until both partners have submitted.

A premarital quiz helps surface conversations that are easy to overlook in the excitement of engagement. It's not a test , it's a map. Many couples find they discover important differences early, giving them time to talk things through with an imam or counselor before the wedding.

Most couples finish in 15-25 minutes, but you can pause and come back. Your progress is saved to your account, and you can continue from the dashboard whenever you're ready. You can also edit your answers any time before your partner submits theirs.

You choose which categories to include before you start, and you can skip any entire section. However, within a category you answer every question , the goal is honest conversation, not selective disclosure.

You each get an in-app view of both sets of answers, side by side and color-coded. The full shared view stays open for 24 hours. After that, you can each choose to hide your own answers from your partner, or leave them visible for longer conversations. You can also send us feedback on the quiz right from the results page.
